At Sherpa Pashmina Art, we understand the carbon footprint the fashion and textile industry has and work hard to limit our contribution in any way we can. Hence, since 2015, we have worked with interested clients to reuse any wastage from the manufacturing process to create new products. 90% of the world’s cashmere is produced in the grasslands of the Himalayas and the Gobi Desert. However, fast fashion has literally turned up the heat on the environmental degradation in the area. This has led to some turning to unethical sourcing and production practices. However, Sherpa Pashmina Art has been working with our cashmere suppliers for decades, we are able to ensure ethical practices right from the start of the production process. Now with our work in recycled and reclaimed cashmere, together we can find creative ways to reuse the cashmere that sometimes gets left behind, and make beautiful, long-lasting high-quality products with a deep and meaningful purpose and story.
